Overview

The Garland Solar Project produces enough clean energy to power approximately 50,000 homes.

Completed in Kern County, California on 2,000 acres of land, the Garland Solar Project contains 870,000 polycrystalline photovoltaic solar modules mounted on single-axis tracking tables. These modules deliver power to Southern California Edison (SCE) under a long-term power purchase agreement.

CSI Electrical Contractors, Inc. collaborated with Signal Energy to tackle this aggressive build schedule which included the installation and testing of a 34.5 kV medium voltage system. This system required the use of both overhead poles and underground trench installation methods to distribute the collection system throughout the site.

During construction, the Garland Solar Project created over 550 construction jobs in the surrounding communities including jobs for Local 428.
