CSI Celebrates $34K Raised and Five Years of Participation in the OC Heart & Stroke Walk
In April 2025, under the shadow of the famous “Big A”, thousands of community members from Los Angeles and Orange Counties joined forces to walk for heart health.
For the fifth year in a row, CSI Electrical Contractors, Inc. (CSI) proudly participated in the Orange County Heart & Stroke Walk at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California, fundraising to drive critical cardiovascular research while promoting CPR readiness and celebrating survivors. More than 100 CSI employees and their families came together in support of the American Heart Association (AHA) event, helping raise more than $34,000 for life-saving research and education.
Walking With a Purpose
The mission of the Heart & Stroke Walk hits close to home, with construction workers nationwide facing a disproportionately high risk of cardiovascular disease. For this reason, heart health is an especially important priority in our industry and on our team.
And instead of sitting complacently in that statistic, CSI took action.
Our company has partnered with AHA for half a decade to promote awareness and education around cardiovascular well-being, because we know the cause directly impacts our employees, families, and partners. This year, CSI was one of the event’s top fundraisers.
A Day of Collective Impact
Each year, the OC Heart & Stroke Walk provides participants with the unique opportunity to step onto the field at Angel Stadium. The spirit of the day fills the stands and is strongly felt by all walkers and onlookers. Yvette Estrada, a CSI process administrator, describes the “positive energy” and “camaraderie” felt that day, fueled by the collective goal of improving heart health and raising awareness.
“It is a pleasure to collaborate with our CSI Team, particularly given our strong sense of camaraderie and unity,” Estrada said, “That family-like culture is at the heart of everything we do.”
The event was also deeply personal.
“The main reason my husband Richard and I walk is because every step we take is a tribute to our family members who lost their lives due to heart complications,” Estrada reflects, “In memory of those we’ve lost and in hope for those we love.”
CSI Senior Project Manager Francisco Guttierez echoes this sentiment, “It means a lot to me because I lost a few family members and friends due to this disease,” he said, “It’s nice to see that so many people care about this cause. Especially when some of the other teams are our competitors in the industry- that day we all pitched in to help others.”
Move Forward Together
Giving back has always been at the heart of CSI. Events like the Heart & Stroke Walk not only support an impactful cause, but they also strengthen the bonds within the CSI community. The enthusiasm and turnout each year show how deeply our employees care, not only about their own health and families, but about each other and all those in our industry.
