Since joining CSI in 1999, Paul Pica has been a guiding force in its growth and in the professional development of its employees. As President and COO, he focuses on nurturing and empowering CSI’s leadership team, trusting them to make decisions and cultivating an environment where initiative and originality are encouraged. 

 In partnership with MYR Group, Paul has led CSI through multiple phases of expansion, broadening markets and elevating operations to new levels. He works closely with CSI’s management team to continuously refine operational systems and evaluate strategic opportunities for the company.   

Paul began his professional electrical career in 1983, working alongside his brothers at a small contracting firm. Since joining CSI, he has held a variety of roles, gaining experience across operations and leadership before assuming his current position. 

Since joining CSI in 2010, David has held roles across nearly every corner of the organization – progressing from Project Manager to Project Executive before taking the helm as Vice President of Engineering in 2020 and being appointed Executive Vice President in 2023. His trajectory at CSI is not accidental. It is the result of purposeful leadership, a relentless drive to grow, and an ability to deliver results at every level of the organization. 

 In his current role, David oversees a diverse collection of teams, including business development, estimating, preconstruction, BIM detailing, scheduling, engineering, and lighting support. His technical fluency, strategic mindset, and ability to foster collaboration across complex, interconnected teams drive efficiency and consistent project outcomes. 

 David holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.S. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Management, and an MBA – all from the University of Southern California. He is also a licensed Electrical Engineer in the State of California. This rare combination of technical depth and business acumen, paired with David’s foundation of integrity and genuine care for the people around him, produces a leader who earns respect not through authority, but through character. 

 Away from work, David treasures time with his wife, Alison, and their three children. He is also an avid golfer, home chef, and CSI’s resident sommelier.  

Since joining CSI in 2017, Joe has played a key role in identifying opportunities, engaging the market, and building relationships that fuel long-term growth. With a sharp instinct for emerging trends and an expansive professional network, he helps position CSI to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving industry. 

 At the core of Joe’s work is a foundation of trust. Through his unwavering commitment to integrity, transparency, and doing right by the people he serves, Joe has built lasting relationships with customers and partners. 

 Internally, Joe serves as a strategic coach to CSI’s estimating and project teams, lending his expertise and insight to some of CSI’s high-stakes pursuits. 

 Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from California State University, Long Beach, and is a licensed C10 Electrical Contractor in the State of California, which continues to ground his work. 

 Outside the office, Joe is devoted to his wife and three children. Together, his family enjoys time in the outdoors and at the ball field. 

As a Navy Veteran, Matt began his career in electrical construction in 1999 and joined CSI in 2007. In 2021, Matt was named Vice President of Preconstruction & Estimating. In this role, Matt works closely with customers, vendors, and design teams to translate concepts into accurate, actionable plans that account for constructability, codes, historical data, industry trends, and the project’s scope of work. 

 Matt has deep expertise in Target Value Estimating and a keen eye for value engineering opportunities, consistently uncovering cost-saving solutions without compromising quality. With a foundation of integrity and a passion for delivering excellence, Matt takes projects from conception to reality with ease. 

 Outside of the office, you’ll find Matt either spending time with his son, Levi, on the ballfield, cooking up a 5-star Michelin-style meal, or taking a wild wilderness adventure that usually involves fishing. 

Appointed Executive Vice President in 2020, Chris has been a cornerstone at CSI since 1998, rising from electrician and IBEW member to one of the organization’s most trusted leaders. 

 With over 35 years in electrical construction, he serves as the connective force that links CSI’s field operations and administration. He is exceptionally skilled at orchestrating workforce resources across hundreds of simultaneous projects, aligning field operations, project management, safety, warehouse operations, and purchasing into a unified, high-performing operation. 

 What sets Chris apart is his ability to develop teams that don’t just show up – they deliver. By investing in the right people, placing them in the right roles, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration, Chris’s teams get the job done with excellence, no matter the complexity or scale. 

 Outside the office, Chris enjoys golfing, family time with his wife and three children, and attending Dodger games. 

For Danny, construction isn’t just a career — it’s in his DNA. Raised in a family with deep roots in the trade, Danny developed an early appreciation for the industry that would ultimately define his career. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University and a Law Degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, Danny found himself drawn back into construction, now equipped with a rare combination of legal acumen, analytical precision, and a lifelong understanding of the trade. 

 Since joining CSI in 2017, Danny has emerged as one of the most valuable and impactful leaders. In his role as Vice President – Procurement & Logistics, he oversees a modernized purchasing and material management system that serves as the operational backbone of CSI’s project delivery. His ability to seamlessly integrate estimating, operations, and accounting functions into a unified, efficient workflow is a testament to his systems thinking and analytic rigor. 

 Outside of the office, Danny is most at home with his people and pets, whom he loves the most. He is proud to be married to his best friend, Traci, and shares his home with their cat, Mazzy

Shane brings over 20 years of experience in safety leadership and construction to CSI, guided by a deeply held belief that a strong safety culture isn’t built through policy alone, but through people, consistency, and a genuine commitment at every level of the organization. 

 In his role as the Executive Director of Safety, Shane leads company-wide safety strategy and compliance programs for CSI’s large-scale commercial, industrial, and renewable energy projects. He oversees regional safety directors, managers, and site safety teams, ensuring consistent adherence to CAL/OSHA Title 8 standards, Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (IIPP), and enterprise safety initiatives. Shane also manages corporate safety budgets, PPE programs, training initiatives, audits, regulatory inspections, and client safety evaluations. 

 Shane’s unbreakable commitment to safety, paired with his process-driven execution, creates a culture of safety that permeates every action and decision. 

 When he’s not in the office, Shane is most at home on the slopes. He treasures every chance to hit the mountains with his wife and two kids. 

Andrew began his career in the electrical trade as an apprentice and advanced through the ranks, gaining comprehensive, real-world experience across nearly every facet of the industry. In 2018, Andrew joined CSI and now sits as the Executive Vice President of CSI’s large-scale commercial construction group. In this role, Andrew leads the successful delivery of complex projects, strategically aligning resources to maintain schedule, budget, and contractual compliance. 

 Known for his hands-on leadership style, Andrew builds and empowers high-performing teams by leading with accountability, fostering collaboration, and maintaining a relentless focus on execution, which drives both client satisfaction and operational excellence across every phase of the project. 

 Outside of CSI, Andrew enjoys exploring his passion for the culinary arts and spending time with his family, including his 4 children, and 2 grandchildren, Adam and Alice. 

As the Director of Operations – Construction, Derek oversees the full scope of operations for CSI’s commercial construction group, ensuring that every project meets CSI’s standards for quality, safety, and profitability. He directs resource allocation and strategic planning to support CSI’s continued organizational growth, while providing hands-on executive leadership to project management and field staff to streamline the delivery of complex electrical infrastructure. 

 Derek leads with empathy and intention, ensuring his team and our customers feel supported, heard, and valued. For Derek, a project’s success is inextricably linked to the well-being of the people who deliver it. 

 Derek’s journey in the electrical industry began in 2005 with a five-year apprenticeship through the Orange County Electrical Training Institute (OCETI). He distinguished himself in the field as a foreman and transitioned into office management in 2012 before joining CSI in 2017 as a project executive and being appointed to his current role in 2023. 

 Outside of the office, Derek finds his greatest joy in the outdoors alongside his wife and two children. Whether he is cheering on the San Diego Padres or spending his weekends on the sidelines of his children’s sporting events, he remains a dedicated fan of both his local team and his family’s active pursuits. 

Oscar is CSI’s leading voice on the development and installation of CSI’s low-voltage projects, including network infrastructure, audiovisual systems, security, and telecommunications. With a strong command of emerging technologies and a strategic approach to project delivery, Oscar ensures customers remain at the forefront of technology. Oscar is known for managing sophisticated network infrastructures and building high-performing teams by fostering clear, consistent communication that creates solutions aligned with our customers’ goals. 

Oscar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Houston and has been an integral part of CSI since 2006, when he started as a Project Engineer. He obtained his BICSI RCDD credential in 2010. After progressing to Project Manager and expanding his experience beyond the company, Oscar returned to CSI in 2017, bringing refined expertise and a drive to deliver successful projects. 

Outside the office, Oscar’s favorite place to be is with his wife and two daughters.   

Bringing over 3 decades of experience, including 21 years in leadership at CSI, Gene leads with conviction and a clear vision for the future. As the Executive Vice President of Renewables, Gene’s strong work ethic and technical acumen are instrumental in executing some of California’s largest renewables projects to date. Under Gene’s leadership, CSI has constructed over 4.5 gigawatts of PV and is currently building some of the country’s largest Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects. 

 Gene is hyper-focused on cultivating an environment devoted to personal and professional growth, understanding what is most important to our customers, and delivering on their needs. By fostering a culture of teamwork, communication, hard work, and trust, Gene has driven the growth of CSI’s Renewable Energy Group and helped cement CSI as a key player in the industry. 

 In and out of the office, you may see Gene wearing a Dodgers jersey as one of their biggest fans or spending time outdoors with his family. 

As Senior Vice President EPC, Reza leads the execution of turnkey self-perform large-scale solar and battery storage projects and strengthens long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders. 

With more than 30 years of experience in renewable energy and executive leadership, Reza brings a well-rounded perspective spanning new business development, large-scale EPC delivery, high-tech operations, and supply chain management. His strategic and financial acumen, paired with a disciplined approach to execution, have established him as a leader who doesn’t just meet the standard for operational excellence; he sets it. 

Reza holds a degree in Finance from Harvard, a Bachelor of Social Sciences from UC Irvine, and was a PhD candidate in Cultural Anthropology at UC Irvine. 

Reza enjoys reading, learning, and studying different cultures and languages. He practices yoga and dips in the ocean whenever he gets the chance. His favorite pastime is cooking and enjoying good food with friends and family. 

With over 30 years of experience in the electrical trade, including 17 years at CSI, Eduardo “Wayo” Rubalcava serves as Vice President of Preconstruction – Renewables. In his role, Wayo leads business development, estimating, and preconstruction for our renewable energy projects, ensuring each pursuit is strategically positioned for success at the outset. 

Wayo is a driven and tenacious individual who knows what matters most and cuts through the noise to deliver measurable outcomes for customers. He leads high-performing teams that operate with the same level of intensity and precision, consistently delivering effective, solutions-oriented results in the fast-paced, evolving clean energy market. Above all, Wayo is committed to the people around him and the purpose behind the work, building meaningful relationships, advancing clean energy, and contributing to a better world for generations to come. 

When he’s not advancing clean energy, you’ll likely find Wayo somewhere outdoors, at a concert, or spending quality time with his family. 

Since joining CSI in 2008, Jake has been instrumental in building and scaling CSI’s renewables division. His technical expertise covers the full spectrum of renewable energy infrastructure, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and design-build projects, while remaining at the forefront of emerging technologies redefining the industry. 

 In his current role as Vice President of Operations – Renewables, Jake drives operational excellence by providing strategic direction, accountability, and alignment across cross-functional teams. 

 With over 30 years of experience in the electrical construction industry, Jake’s technical acumen and executive leadership have become a cornerstone of CSI’s success. 

Outside of work, Jake is a devoted family man, an avid traveler, and a passionate photographer. 

Rick brings more than 35 years of industry experience to his role as Executive Vice President at CSI, where he leads a team dedicated to solving complex technical challenges with creativity and precision. Rick works directly with customers from the design phase through execution, building relationships that are rooted in trust and a shared commitment to getting it right. 

Rick has extensive expertise in aerospace and mission-critical work where the stakes are high and the margin for disruption is low. Rick’s team specializes in engineering electrical systems without interrupting the core operations that depend on them. 

With deep roots in the electrical industry dating back to 1987, Rick understands firsthand that the greatest investment isn’t in the projects, it’s in the people. That belief drives his commitment to cultivating the next generation of leaders at CSI. 

Away from the office, Rick cherishes time with his wife of 35 years, their three sons, and their grandson. Together, the family shares a love for boating and the outdoors. 

Roland leads CSI’s Palmdale and Santa Clarita offices as Regional Vice President, overseeing a team that has built a strong reputation for excellence in aerospace and commercial construction projects. With a career spanning more than 40 years, Roland brings a level of experience and steadiness that his clients depend on. At the core of Roland’s success is his steadfast commitment to safety and client satisfaction. Roland places a premium on precise planning, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving that keep CSI’s projects safe and on target. 

 In 2009, Roland joined CSI, bringing not only decades of technical expertise but also a deeply personal connection to the trade, having grown up in a family of electricians. This heritage informs how Roland leads his team with care, intellect, and grit. 

 Beyond his professional life, Roland enjoys spending time boating and camping with his wife, four children, and nine grandchildren. 

Josh has been a trusted member of the CSI team for 23 years and, in 2024, was appointed Director of Operations for CSI’s Special Projects Group. In this role, Josh provides strategic vision and oversight for a diverse team, guiding the successful execution and financial performance of the group’s portfolio. Josh’s responsibilities span the full arc of project delivery, from strategic planning and business development to nurturing client relationships, budget management, and upholding CSI’s high safety standards. Josh leads with intent and an uncompromising focus on outcomes, consistently elevating team performance and driving measurable project success. 

 With industry experience spanning over 35 years and a foundation forged with a five-year apprenticeship through the IBEW, Josh continues to propel CSI’s Special Projects Group to new heights. 

 Outside the office, Josh treasures his time with his family and dog, Evie. 

Troy serves as the President of CSI’s Northern California Region, where he leads regional operations with a focus on team performance, schedule integrity, and financial accountability. Drawing on more than three decades of experience, Troy brings a seasoned perspective to executive leadership, grounded in operational excellence, deep knowledge of the construction industry, and a commitment to delivering on CSI’s promises. 

 Troy works hand in hand with customers to identify opportunities and deliver high-quality electrical solutions across a diverse portfolio, including cogeneration power plants, schools, hospitals, high-rise core-and-shell, central plants, medical office buildings, tenant-improvement spaces, and more. 

 Outside of the office, Troy enjoys playing golf and watching the Los Angeles Angels try to repeat their 2002 excellence. 

Paul brings 28 years of industry experience to his role as Director of Operations for CSI’s Northern California Region. He leads office staff, directs project executives, and guides field teams, approving financials, authorizing change orders, and estimating projects. Paul drives operational excellence and makes key decisions in planning, budgeting, and project implementation. 

Since joining CSI in 2019 and stepping into his current role in 2022, Paul has elevated the region’s performance by increasing efficiencies, streamlining communication, and building a powerful team equipped to take on the most complex projects in the portfolio. 

Paul’s path to leadership was built from the ground up. Having completed the IBEW 617 five-year apprenticeship program and becoming a certified electrician with OSHA 30 training, he advanced through the ranks as General Foreman and General Superintendent, before stepping into operational leadership. That field foundation, combined with deep project experience across Life Science, Data Centers, HCAI, Public Works, and Tenant Improvement, gives Paul a powerful perspective that continues to drive CSI’s Northern California region’s success.
